The North Texas Customs Broker & Freight Forwarders Association was formally organized on April 23, 1980, just six years after the opening of the Dallas-Ft Worth International Airport. The then small organization has now grown to 43 active members and continues to grow each year. The association began with Customs Brokers only as members, and in the late 1980's expanded to allow International Freight Forwarders. In the early 1990's the association further expanded providing Associate and Affiliate membership to any person, firm or corporation regularly engaged in business related to transportation or international trade services.

The objective of the association is to promote the common business interests, encourage the maintenance of professionalism within our industry, maintain a standard of integrity and efficiency that will protect clients and the Government in a fair, reasonable and equitable way. Our main activities include the dispersing of information and notices to our members, while acting as a gateway for communication with Customs. Our committees work to behave as a liaison between the industry and carriers, as well as promote compliance through education and seminars. Our association also works to actively support NCBFAA and the Certified Customs Specialist program.

The future for NTCBFFA is focused on recruiting more new members in order that we may build a functional network which will help to promote the DFW region as a viable port of entry. We will work to further strengthen our relationship with US Customs and Border Protection, as well as PGA's, TSA and Homeland Security.
